The HBC Foundation is dedicated to improving lives by enhancing physical and mental health through education, access, and empowerment. Established in Canada in 2005, and in the U.S. In 2017, the HBC Foundation has dispersed more than $92 million in cash and in-kind donations to Canadian charities.

ScholarSHPE provides opportunities for:

Graduating high school seniors beginning a STEM undergraduate career at a community college or 4-year university.
Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in STEM at any stage of their undergraduate career. Students must be enrolled full-time at a community college or 4-year university.
Students or professionals pursuing technical certificates or graduate-level professional education that increase their professional competencies with select institutions.
Graduate students pursuing a master's or doctoral STEM degree program at an accredited university.

Congratulations on taking another step towards advancing your academic career and giving the world what it needs - more Hispanics in STEM like you. Our scholarships open February 1, 2021, and are due on April 30, 2021. Please check this webpage on a weekly basis during the application period for the most up-to-date offerings.

Scholarship Requirements

Active Member of SHPE
Pursuing a STEM degree or professional certificate at a qualifying institution. All degree programs must be in the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
Minimum 2.75 GPA

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Albert 'Al' D. Diaz is a vice president in the Sales and Marketing Group and the general manager of Technical and Sales Enablement at Intel Corporation. He oversees the organization responsible for scaling products and technologies as well as capabilities critical to the future success of the Intel Data Center business. Diaz has a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from Lehigh University; a master’s degree in sociology from Pennsylvania State University; and a bachelor’s degree in sociology and social psychology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Bright Minds Scholarship

According to the Pew Research Center, lack of financial resources is the number one reason why Hispanics don’t complete their STEM degree. SHPE is only able to award scholarships to 25 percent of the students who apply. Let’s all work together to help more members.SHPE’s goal is to raise $1,000,000 by the end of June 2021 so that we can provide scholarships for an unprecedented number of scholars. Every dollar donated to SHPE scholarships helps our members succeed!
